"Mexico between Politics and Organized Crime" (video)

Adela Navarro Bello

"Mexico between Politics and Organized Crime" was a succinct April 23 lecture (followed by questions and answers) by Adela Navarro Bello, co-director of the Tijuana-based weekly Zeta.

Navarro, a well-respected Mexican journalist, gave an eye opening and important speech on realities of the efforts, and lack thereof, by the new Enrique Peña Nieto administration versus Mexico's drug cartels, gangs, crime and violence.

The event was organized by the Center on Emerging and Pacific Economies, the International Affairs Group, and the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies at the University of California, San Diego.

The link below is to a 16 minute video, in English, with Navarro's talk following introductions and a short film clip (without the Q & A).
