Unconscionable Arms Trafficking from the USA to Mexico

‘Punto y Aparte...,' El Financiero

In Mexico, the only ones that don't seem to comprehend the flagrant violation of national sovereignty and of agreements with the United States, to fight organized crime and drug trafficking, are those responsible for the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and the Attorney General's office, despite the secretary of SRE herself, Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, saying a few days ago that U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton assured her that there would be penalties for those found guilty of smuggling arms into our country in operation Fast and Furious.

But it has now been revealed that there was a previous plan, Wide Receiver, that also introduced contraband arsenals into Mexico, with the alleged aim of striking at the drug cartels; it is surprising, with this struggle being the priority of the [Mexican] federal government, that it leaves the flank open to the transfer of arms being carried out, illegally and legally, from the USA.
